Peggy Modikoe is TB HIV Care’s Sex Work Project Manager and is responsible for guiding implementation and providing technical support for the programme. Peggy has been working in the field of HIV Prevention for more than 10 years, primarily in community engagement, and has gained extensive experience working in East Africa. Peggy studied both Public Relations and Business Communications and has a Higher Certificate in Management.
Peggy has experience in implementing microbicides and HIV vaccine clinical trials, primarily focusing on building capacity within peer outreach programmes. She has driven community and stakeholder consultation platforms at research implementing sites. Her passion for community engagement started when she became a clinical trial participant, then moving on to become a Community Advisory Group member. She provided input on the development of Good Participatory Practice (GPP guidelines) in clinical trials and the development of CDC/PEPFAR’s Standards for Peer Outreach Programmes.
